4 S/ I6 I- h- B( ]& T3 ^8 _* U0 f& o作为一个修行人,如果在家修持,极易为贪嗔痴的外境所转。即使自己想安住,也会因亲8 C3 n+ s. }- [- K. y7 W9 H
5 f: C/ v9 K. T7 R" X- d( N, `朋的打搅而生烦恼。所以,离家修行是上上之举。8 A7 c S7 r1 b) m% ? f. o
, t! @, L$ l0 |* V% G3 x; ]If a spiritual seeker tries to do his practices at home, he is likely to be influenced by situations of
) o, a7 |5 U8 _& c. Y, U/ {+ l2 l9 G- j
craving, hatred, and delusion. Even if he has every intention of concentrating on his studies,

: s" i& V4 f) ffriends and relatives easily stir up his emotion. Hence, the smartest thing to do is to stay away; S# @& ^8 v+ Q) E' W S9 q! A8 N4 Z
3 f- G" e7 `" ?2 v7 c# g* ~from home to practice./ a! R2 ?/ V/ b, P& B- i$ n
' P/ B3 l8 t7 W2 e( d- U
佛经云:“何处生烦恼,须臾不得住。”4 x) y. ~& p( W: I! X/ [5 U' ?
; ~% p! y" n+ w& u! N# N CThe scripture says: “A place that incites afflictive emotions is a place not to stay even for an

博朵瓦也说:“远离故乡与亲友,如理作意弃散乱,此等之人趋解脱。”

/ E3 O# x8 f& ?7 V9 K3 KGeshe Potowa also says: “Leave behind your hometown, relatives, and friends. Give up* K% _% r1 g+ }: o: J; ?% W1 Y
% R% w C9 u7 H" H" W1 e* sdistractions and steer your mind according to the teachings. By doing so, you will attain

2 X8 A6 v2 O7 W& Hliberation.”' M; z- A: [& u: m6 q# V' u

臧巴加惹的修行语录中也有这样一段话:“烦恼因外境而生,不舍弃故乡真是愚痴;修行% o* q2 i6 a2 w& q+ k

需对治烦恼,不依对治者真是愚痴;听闻佛经依因缘而得,不筹备因缘真是愚痴。若远离

故土,即使谣言四起,也不后悔;心依止上师,即使饥饿而死,也不后悔;若通达心性,

0 ?+ |" b6 X: |, D2 r& Z% ]即使短暂依师,也不后悔。若远离家乡,即有了对治烦恼的好缘起;不贪图乐果,即已产$ z3 ]/ x; E) I! ~# N: U. c
9 F6 X: b/ {) O2 L, g生正信的好缘起;舍弃世间法,是发布施的好缘起。不舍弃故乡,贪嗔是不会间断的。因0 L7 F R/ U$ B" Z
, o, ]- E( Q& t% x此,首先离家极重要。世间琐事不能舍弃,就无时修持;世间财物不能放下,就不能斩断0 F9 `: D* h& W* S' n, Q
5 x9 @7 J$ m" q N% s- K亲友的牵连。”

The following quote is found in Tsangpa Gyare’s teachings on practice: “External circumstances9 d2 {7 A4 I4 ~2 T; \

trigger afflictive emotions, clinging to one’s homeland is indeed foolish. Spiritual practice is
( J8 ^4 b( p: M0 k
/ ~% q6 S4 e7 h# _& u# Xmeant to subdue disturbing emotions, knowing not to apply antidotes is indeed foolish. The0 J+ { i2 A2 j" M U* A) V2 j
) F3 C! `, r: d9 ~" s2 lopportunity to hear the Dharma results from causes and conditions; not knowing to create
' @# t, a+ @( H, e5 k1 \- J7 S% y5 X
favorable causes and conditions is indeed foolish. Having left the homeland far behind for
$ c4 K1 L- Z: J/ [9 M( ?! Y6 K
& o. p' ?$ r7 L+ ` `9 xpractice, you have no regret whatsoever even if rumors abound. Having resolved to follow a8 l2 P) W1 d( [- `
* G/ l, N* X3 Z: N+ u
spiritual teacher, you have no regret even if you die from starvation. Having realized the nature) I S( Q( E. i2 R. b
7 C* _; k9 Q. Z9 Fof the mind, you have no regret even if your time with the teacher was brief. To leave the1 g2 |* O' c! o$ k& F
9 S, y7 L" D1 }; r, @* D
homeland is a favorable condition for overcoming afflictions. To give up the craving for pleasure7 E8 u u4 z4 q
r$ U* D1 L1 U7 k' l7 ris a favorable condition for establishing right views. To banish worldly affairs is a favorable% t$ f; L$ G. I0 ^
# t) L3 N2 C5 X8 Ccondition for making offerings. So long as you are attached to your homeland, you cannot rid- Y) G! w- t3 l+ s o, W9 C- P2 O
7 ^* m1 m4 F; [" m8 z. z0 G9 A* zyourself of greed and avarice. Henceforth, the first crucial step is to bid farewell to your home. If
- G( R+ i8 U6 D% ~) C' V2 \' Q% q/ @8 t5 K' \# z. s6 Y
you cannot give up worldly engagements, you will never have the time to practice. If you cannot8 O3 { y7 H5 n% g6 ]$ v3 F2 D
' y0 h8 {; [9 b* k8 [4 J* L: U! _* |relinquish your worldly possessions, you will never sever entanglements with friends and
0 H& W9 }+ Q& z* k% g) R, A1 L2 T2 L" o5 L# K
relatives.”

In all, it seems the ills of staying in one’s homeland are indeed endless. A truly wise person

: T! r5 l# J5 dshould let go of what is difficult to give up and carry out what is difficult to do.6 F4 x+ L* [$ n4 u& [* O6 x
3 M, {& W0 G1 @/ G/ g6 q远离家乡和财务的纠缠,依止静处时,才能深切感受到诸大德教言的胜妙之处。2 E# V5 j" s9 i% d: D3 ]
& w- L! A. I; ^- N8 a9 S/ K, I1 NOnly when we have settled in a secluded place, free from tangles of money and homeland, shall# c( v C$ ]* v" E5 p5 G
- O' S g4 r, m h# N! \7 Z
we come to appreciate deeply the sublime meaning of the masters’ teachings.
