闽南佛学院后面有一座小山,其高度虽不能与雪域的名山相提并论,但于此地也可算是登- H" K, O: g& M! p! t2 N4 I/ `+ r

高望远之绝佳胜地,当地人称之为五老山。登上山巅,整个厦门市区一览无余。令人顿生 L# q; F- b5 X L
0 F: J5 D- e! E
“登五老而小闽”之感。+ C% d) f9 A9 \
& O" |& y0 b7 Q6 s4 C5 d" L
A small hill called Wu Lau Mountain by the locals rises behind Minnan Buddhist Academy.0 L7 W6 I" F7 l% C8 i$ Q

Though lacking the imposing height of those in the Tibetan snow land, it nonetheless is

considered a great local spot to hike in order to enjoy a panoramic view of the area surrounding
; }+ p. V- X7 Y' V; a z( m! v0 u) l
it. Once at the peak and seeing the whole of Xiamen city, it’s easy to feel that “up on the Wu Lau,1 Z6 I8 G, z) h, W* w6 V1 G
9 j4 u: f1 u3 a- R, Z, z: C
the Min Province is shrunken.”4 @. ?) }) g" C
/ u# o- c) T! a# S. y; S L: w
山上树林繁茂、绿草丛生、鸟儿啁啾、春虫呢喃,真乃一修行之好去处。8 [0 x2 d1 @3 L" K* t) D& e, i
* O) ]( w1 W$ y: a5 MThis hill is lush with dense trees, green with grass, and vibrant with the twittering of birds as well
' ?' r" K- l- z7 P+ @0 M* e
6 y7 L& d, b' O( _3 ]+ J. Vas the chirping of insects. It’s an excellent place to do spiritual practice.

% M% ?4 `* C5 F# Y' s半山腰有一“那兰若处”,为当地人时常拜望之胜地。我与济群法师的交谈处就选择于此, y4 ~7 u; J# K% t
! w7 A; Y3 A* i9 L。济群法师培养了大批僧才,其培养的僧尼与知识分子已遍布各地。为广弘佛法所作之努: F b/ Z# n4 o9 |# w8 \% L4 W

力,也受到同道的认同。与之交谈,深感惬意。

% I$ y* p7 a. w' Z% G- M9 sBuddhist circles for his accomplishment. He has trained many monks, nuns, and lay professionals
, Z- b/ k2 z. Q
- n4 a! F7 o+ @9 X5 k7 e$ D6 J% `who are now carrying out Dharma activities in many places. It’s a great pleasure to have a chance/ N! ^& C* D( F9 c) F
* h6 E+ g, i5 B- S% K
to talk with him.

一边品着闽南人最喜欢的“功夫茶”,一边交流心得。我谈到了藏地依止上师的方式、传1 h/ h( B: Q6 T5 {5 B. q6 I; f9 i( H
, M+ A, T* M4 `2 s" u9 s统以及前辈大德依止上师的感人事迹。感人之处,不免令其赞叹不已。我又谈到了闻思修# F2 U5 B6 z" E. }
8 c: m0 b9 `/ V6 P" v行不可偏废的重要意义。他感慨道,在五浊兴盛之今世,通过闻思修行建立正知正见,消( a/ ^9 Q$ P* K+ U* R
8 Z! @% |* @8 d& @7 F1 n
除烦恼非常重要。他的观点令我有“伯牙子期”之感。的确,佛法的真正目的是为了消除
5 i6 S- L1 G$ G. I" d% b3 M
: z; A, b- ^# c3 D( X# r烦恼,若不能将佛法运用于实际生活,融入自己的相续,其他一切形象上的建道场、造佛
; q G J) w, v7 v& o3 b: \/ A, Z4 f. P- I% T( v
像都是空谈。只可惜人们往往不明其理,真是令人叹息。; v) g+ m- L! o( i" o. n" Y9 x
& a9 t& l, R' z; X
Sipping Kung Fu tea, the chosen beverage of Min people, we exchanged our thoughts and1 ^: O3 V' w/ C; t3 f' J
, Q( d5 d5 k$ t4 cexperiences. I mentioned the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, its way of following spiritual9 v& H# T- i& Z7 I- M6 |) K- |
% F- `% w# B( x/ w+ n7 wteachers, and the many heart-rending stories of past great masters in this regard. We paused to
, f0 N9 D' F2 \0 C: w( Q$ i ~# _7 n7 D( R3 F
admire some of the most inspiring ones. I also stated the central role of listening to, pondering,
0 J0 s8 A% S8 B6 \1 \$ }
6 m4 T# Y% v0 D2 }and meditation on the teachings; none of them can be spared. He agreed with a sigh that, indeed. E& V8 n0 r# G" T, x* Q$ @
' s* F$ A* E. b7 [# Ain this time of five degenerations, it’s crucial for people to work on these three wisdom tools in
4 h; v' P, Z& q0 H4 ~# I! e5 Y+ o9 d1 a5 E; v6 v9 J! r
order to establish the right view and uproot afflictive emotions. His words lent me the feeling
5 N6 l0 b' O" r6 I5 n( J3 U! {" U0 c! X+ K. {3 H: X: ]
akin to Boya meeting his soul mate Ziqi. Certainly, the real purpose of Buddhism is to empower, E- v% ]* G4 y+ q
1 M$ o0 p- w0 ]" X8 N4 O( T% Qpeople to overcome confused emotions. Unless Buddha’s teachings are infused into one’s own
& S, g9 f3 p8 w5 ?. h B# B
. x/ d! {9 E$ ~1 Hminds and applied to daily activities, all other feats such as building temples and erecting statues5 T6 T$ H9 i. {
+ x0 M, p3 ^# l( u
are but superficial and meaningless. Regrettably, very few people grasp this truth. It‘s a shame!

7 l, z) b( h) A; D5 l' \/ p" b, E不知不觉,日已偏西。我不得不起身告辞,但愿此生我们还能有缘再次促膝长谈。只怕世
