: D8 P0 W: m: r' `" tHow reluctant am I to touch upon this subject! But “to leave the monastic order” presents a* V8 y/ v. x, @: v: X7 U
! j6 W" @( m$ ]6 Q1 y$ dcruel reality we must face in the current time of five degenerations. Instead of dodging the issue,

今天，听到一位出家十几年的人，为烦恼所缠，已还俗好几个月了。听到这个消息，心里

: J/ S$ k& e7 T# N7 i C像吃了一只苍蝇般不是滋味。记得在他出家初期，也可算得上是闻思精进、戒律清净、智( h5 S H* {& v5 l7 z: [" P7 j

慧日益增上的典范。他曾说过：“我只要活一天，决不还俗。让我还俗，还不如死掉。”8 o% F8 P" ?/ I" j# n* l$ {
% |' b( F' D& O$ u0 e+ d& T3 w这样一位下了很大决心的人，却食言还俗，十分令人痛心。# j1 o$ {# u9 e) I; o4 w; Y; ?$ O
% n+ l: f& Z/ v! ]: j' V5 OA few months ago a monk, beset by afflictions, declared to renounce his monastic life of more2 u8 c" G, P6 T% D$ W u

than 10 years. When I heard this news today, I got quite upset as if I had swallowed a fly. I recall

early on, his ordained peers had regarded him as a model by his diligent study and keeping pure
0 [9 U0 h0 u2 {% U4 X$ m, A! _ x j; x8 q3 |' I y4 A( R" V
precepts. Once he asserted: “As long as I am alive, I will never leave the monastic order even for7 R8 G7 t. v$ K( w, u/ b+ n v
8 D: @/ F% i. ~+ n5 W6 D- Uone day. For me, returning to the worldly life is worse than dying.” A person who proclaimed his8 p1 p; {# N) v$ k; e
* Z: h6 B% G9 W' g$ Y, Z6 V+ R5 `faith with such strong determination still ended up eating his own words and repealed his vow.

$ F2 G$ g+ Q/ h8 d, d' S* m' I$ THow can I not feel sick at heart!

他在电话中闭口不谈佛法，却无休止地言及他的生意。当问到他生意如何时，他像饱含 了

一大堆苦水，忙不迭地向我倾倒：“如今的生意太难做了！每天8小时，却挣不到十元钱。

$ b2 G8 l: I( c6 h, t想起以前出家时无忧无虑的生活，真像在天堂一样啊！唉！！”听了他的苦恼，我真不知$ ?: Q& B$ r; X( u8 |0 M, r
! k, d% E8 I0 s/ W, X% [, |- d/ J& P. C该如何应答。! |1 Q2 Z7 n. }0 Q* K3 [. P* u, \
' V3 X% Z; d2 C5 F9 K5 n/ m3 C
Over the phone, he veered away from discussing the Dharma, but instead tattled endlessly about0 _( z( U" k A m6 Z6 A& w7 J
' W" k& g7 p- j& [; O( m1 N7 @his business. When I asked how it was going, he started to pour out to me his pent-up miseries:

4 b) T- `: C' U% f" i0 B2 e, m. \“You know, it’s so difficult to do business these days! My hard labor of eight hours daily earns me) L9 ?2 p- `/ e2 b; V/ K/ a
: _3 ~8 u; ~; e. @* q% bless than 10 yuan. The ordained life at the monastery, as I recall now, was so peaceful and worry-
$ L/ ~0 [1 N& m# ~9 c- T- g. C5 @2 i6 ~" X1 C! f% s/ T
free, almost like living in heaven! Alas!!” Hearing his complaints, I have no idea how to respond.

4 ^7 p7 r$ O: g7 A7 t0 p不过令我庆幸的是，他的见解至今尚未改变，对三宝的信心也没有退减，忏悔心恒时不离4 ]+ ?2 C/ h$ h" a6 Y7 T
' t( B" z: A. Q左右。虽忙于生意，却不离念诵。
4 A+ D _2 K c4 X% N' x: u& U) I5 s e, ]$ Y6 x9 S
But there is some consolation for me: He is still holding onto his views and his faith in the Three" v6 Z4 n5 C, c1 o B0 [ V
7 r2 ?" A; Z8 _- F2 g- ~' `Jewels has not waned. He takes every opportunity to do the purification practice and also

remembers to recite mantras while busy with his shop.7 J* ]7 }$ Y$ h+ k% x. Y2 f

喇拉曲智仁波切曾有一位很有名的弟子因故还俗，但别人毁谤他时，仁波切却说：“毁谤1 M; _8 N. N; a) }+ {2 Q# K
5 i+ E$ J% S4 s4 P8 _别人是错误的，他的身体虽然还俗了，心却没有还俗。”, t; ^* [) O3 b' Z

Once, one of Lhala Chodri Rinpoche’s main disciples left the monastic order for some reason.! i- ]; q: S' A/ l) ~/ ^3 O1 z

When others condemned him, Rinpoche said: “It’s not right to speak badly about others.: n p& ]$ v0 {. ?( a$ C+ ? V

Although his body has resumed a worldly life, he has not done so in his heart.”

佛经云：“宁可毁尸罗，切莫坏正见。”《中观四百论》中也说：“宁毁犯尸罗，不损坏( J0 P& `4 a* B5 N$ M2 p! H6 g

正见。”如果见解毁坏，不行忏悔，反而责怪上师三宝，即使身体没有还俗，其内心却已

points the finger at the guru or the Three Jewels, then this person’s mind is incurably corrupt,- ~- U9 g/ y7 m$ q) Q& x9 R
